Its been sooo long that I watched this one and I have no desire to watch it again. The story deals with a variant of fuedal Japan/China. Kabuto is a member of a small group of legendary warriors. he is on a mission to rescue a kidnapped princess from an evil sorceress. On the way to rescuing her he has to battle all means of demons and mechanized terrors, using his mystical fighting abilities to defeat them.
So this OAV is kind of confusing and finding out that its based off of a long running series makes sense that I was confused. Shit was going on and I had no idea why. Knowing that it is part of this long running series makes it a little less annoying, but I don't believe the TV series or the manga are commercially available in North America. If you are a fan of Ninja Scroll this one will fit right in with your tastes. It features super badass heroes killing the shit out of over sexed demonic bad guys. Lots of death and dismemberment. Even if you wanted to find it though, this one may be pretty hard to track down. It was under the radar in the early 90's when it came out and I don't think it was ever released on DVD.
