So it was pointed out for me that I forgot at least one title for the 2008 year, Xam'd. This slick and entertaining action adventure series is the latest from Bones and is an interesting combination of Escaflowne, Pumpkin Scissors, Last Exile, Naussica and some weird bio monster show. So there are actually 9 best picks for the year, still a poor showing in my book.
